Reckless provocation
At the same time, North Korea warned the U.S. to end its military hysteria or face retaliation for deploying a strike group to the Korean peninsula.
“If the United States wage reckless provocation against us, our revolutionary power will instantly counter with an annihilating strike,” Choe Ryong Hae said.
Besides sending the Carl Vinson strike group to the region, Trump had tweeted that China, the “new ally” of the U.S. following Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Florida, must deal properly with North Korea, or else the U.S.
would. But other Chinese officials warned Washington of provoking Pyongyang into a nuclear war.
