A new drug treatment research study claims it has found a cure for Heroin Addiction. According to the report, Marijuana may help alleviate the unpleasant symptoms, plus could significantly reduce the cravings for Heroin.
Treating drug abuse with other drugs
A new drug study claims that the treatment for Heroin addiction is Marijuana. The study alleges that back in the early 1900s, doctors used heroin to combat morphine addiction. And then there was another wonder drug that supposedly helped you get off morphine with NO side effects.
Sigmund Freud claimed that Cocaine was the best substance to use to overcome morphine addiction.
As it turns out, he was right. However, you were left addicted to possibly a much more dangerous drug.

Marijuana to the rescue
According to the Washington Post, a new study claims that Marijuana would help drug addicts kick their Heroin habit with very little side effects. And, that's not all; apparently, cannabis will help with the pain and the lack of sleep that often plagues Heroin addicts following detox.
Of course, the study admits that replacing one drug for another could be a gamble because they could develop a level of dependency on the drug. However, many doctors and therapists believe that the risk may worth it if it helps reduce Heroin addiction in America.
