Last weekend, Donald Trump went on a multiple-tweet rant accusing Barack Obama of Wiretapping Trump Tower. While Obama released a statement denying any wrongdoing, he's reportedly even more upset than meets the eye.

Obama on Trump

"Just found out that Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory," Donald Trump wrote on his Twitter account last weekend, while later adding, "This is McCarthyism!" With a total of five tweets on the matter at hand, the former host of "The Apprentice" went on to describe Obama as "sick" and "bad," while comparing the former president's alleged actions to Richard Nixon and the Watergate scandal.

Since then, neither Trump nor his administration have provided any credible evidence to back up the wiretapping allegations, with most of the mainstream media dismissing the claim. Despite this, the Wall Street Journal reported on March 8 that Obama is not pleased with Trump, and that the relationship between the two has officially "crumbled."

According to the Wall Street Journal report, Donald Trump believes that Barack Obama is "undermining his nascent administration." In retaliation, sources close to both man confirmed that Obama is "furious" with the billionaire real estate mogul for making such an outlandish allegation without any facts to back it up.

Obama was reportedly "livid over the accusation" that he engaged in illegal wiretapping, and believes that Donald Trump is now "questioning both the integrity of the office of the president," as well as himself. The two last spoke on Inauguration Day, where they appeared all smiles with each other. Not long after, Trump praised Obama for leaving a heartfelt letter on the desk of the Oval Office. Trump attempted to contact Obama in response to the letter, but the former president was away at the time, and it's unlikely that the current commander in chief will receive a return call at this point.

Trump trouble

While Donald Trump and his team continue to stick by the conspiracy of alleged wiretapping, MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski reported conflicting information on Tuesday.

According to Brzezinski, via sources close to the White House, Trump "knew he messed up" in accusing Obama of wiretapping, but "just refuses to admit it." As of press time, no new information has been presented to the press to explain the allegation.
