As of now, Palaniswami has claimed that he had 121 members in his side. So even if six members cross vote, the trust motion will fall.

The former chief minister who has more than 11 lawmakers on his side seemed confident that the Sasikala camp would not be able to prove majority on his side. The opposition has 98 MLA’s with the DMK, Congress, and IUML deciding to vote against the motion.

The house has 234 members who have come down to 231 with the former CM, J Jayalalitha seat vacant and DMK chief M Karunanidhi cannot be present because he is ailing. The speaker cannot vote unless there is a tie.

The Governor had given the CM 15 days to prove he has the majority. However, the CM decided to take the floor test immediately.
