After over a decade as one of the top stars on the Fox News Channel, host Megyn Kelly announced on Tuesday that she will be leaving the network to join NBC News. In response, supporters of Donald Trump were vocal in their criticism of Kelly leaving the network.

Kelly on Twitter

Since 2004, Megyn Kelly has been one of the most popular hosts on Fox News. As the host of "The Kelly File," the popular host has been a staple on the network in the primetime hour for the better part of the last decade. During the first Republican primary debate in August 2015, Kelly clashed with Donald Trump while acting as a moderator.

Over the next year and a half, Trump would engage in a feud with Kelly, referring to her as "overrated" and " bimbo." Over the last few months, rumors have circulated that she would leave the network, which was confirmed on Kelly's Facebook and Twitter page on January 3. In response, supporters of the president-elect ripped the soon-to-be NBC News host in typical Trump fashion.

"This is a great day for all Megyn. You're at a Liberal news station and we no longer have to hear your anti-Trump crap on Fox," Twitter user Deplorable EdWortham wrote.

Another Twitter user said of Kelly, "shes just a piss ant leftist."

"Her plan all along was to become 'the news' instead of reporting the news," Donald Trump supporter Jacci Snyer wrote, while adding, "She has an agenda." In a follow-up tweet, Snyder accused Kelly of using Fox News for the last decade to promote her newly released book "Settle for More"

"BYE BYE!!

You won't be missed!! Now Fox can put someone in there who isn't in the TANK!" Lori B MAGA wrote on her Twitter account. "You are a weasel. At least now you can stop pretending to be a Conservative," Joey@uberdotcom wrote, adding, "More importantly, you fit right in with @NBC hacks!" Twitter user "Rockin Robin" also voiced her views, and they weren't too pleasant either.

"Megyn Kelly taught her viewers that we must NEVER trust Megyn Kelly to tell the truth," Rockin Robin wrote, while adding, "Her lies will be welcome at NBC."

While Donald Trump has not commented on the news of Kelly's departure from Fox News, his supporters appear to be picking up the slack. The final episode of "The Kelly File" is scheduled to air on Friday, where she will then move on to NBC News to host separate weekday and weekend shows.
