In Madiera Beach, Florida, two undercover cops asked the clerk of the Beach Food Mart for some male enhancement pills. The clerk, Mr. Chao Ming Wang, reached under the counter for a cigar box that contained two pills, and the drugs were put into the cops hand. In eight months, Mr. Wang was arrested for the illegal distribution of enhancement products.
Bogus pills
The Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco is investigating as they crackdown on stores selling enhancement drugs that have been selling tainted male enhancement pills. Some of the names of the pills include "Hard Times," "Herb Viagra," and "King of Romance." So far the agency has been able to make arrests in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and Hernando counties within Florida.
One man who was arrested a year ago for selling tainted erectile dysfunction pills from China made nearly $1.1 million, according to his claim in the federal case against him.
The problem with many of these pills are that they are supposedly be made from natural ingredients and are often sold at gas stations or other small stores that you could get for $25 a package. But many of the drugs confiscated from busts are actually forms of Viagra and Cialis pills without the prescription that many people seem to buy. The packages of these tainted pills do not disclose the ingredient list for what is inside them and could be laced with other drugs or chemicals.
Side effects
Many of the people who buy these pills at these stores do not know what is in them or that they are illegally distributed Viagra pills.
The serious concern of selling these pills include the dosage amounts, which are not regulated when selling these drugs. Some of the side effects include low blood pressure to stroke and even go as far as affecting preexisting conditions in men who have medications for conditions like high cholesterol or diabetes. "They weren't even that effective," said Dr.
Christopher Asandra, the chief medical officer of the NuMale Medical Center told Tampa Bay Times,"We don't know what else is in these supplements. To me, it just seems like you're almost playing Russian roulette and opening Pandora's box when you're taking these."
