Did Amanda Knox get away with the murder of Meredith Kercher? Numerous people continue to believe that the woman escaped justice when she was ultimately acquitted, after only serving four years in prison for Kercher's gruesome death. One of those numerous people is the notorious prosecutor who played a role in Knox's conviction. People Magazine reports that Giuliano Mignini believes the Seattle native is indeed guilty of killing her former flatmate.
Amanda Knox was exonerated, but many questions remain
Even though she was exonerated, there still exists a mountain of evidence that seems to indicate that she and Raffaele Sollecito played a role in the murder of Meredith Kercher. In fact, much of that evidence was either omitted, or glossed over in the recent documentary that was produced about the notorious Italian murder case. Some of that evidence includes DNA belonging to Amanda and her lover Raf, as well as behavioral evidence that suggested the two lovers were involved in the murder of the British exchange student.
Amanda Knox's blood was found mixed with Kercher's blood in the apartment where the murder took place.
The crime scene was also apparently staged to look like a break-in, and a knife that may have been used in Kercher's slaying was found to have Knox's and the victim's DNA on it. These are just a few examples of the evidence that continues to exist against the woman who was definitively exonerated in Kercher's murder.
One man imprisoned for a crime committed by three
Currently, Rudy Guede remains imprisoned for the death of Meredith Kercher, but is trying for an early release. This is because he feels that it is unfair that his co-defendants were exonerated while he remains convicted. It should be noted that the court opinion has always maintained that multiple people committed the slaying of the British student.
So if three people committed the crime, why does only one man remain jailed? If the prosecution was legally wrong about Knox and Sollecito, then could they also be wrong about Rudy Guede?
