Star Trek Beyondactor Anton Yelchin, 27, died Sunday morning when his car rolled back and pinned him against a brick mailbox in his driveway. The car was in neutral and the engine was still running when the friends of the actor discovered his body in his driveway. Yelchin was supposed to attend a rehearsal, but, when he did not respond to their phone calls, his friends became alarmed and rushed to his house and found him dead. Yelchin died after he apparently got out of his car in the driveway of his home and the car rolled backward, said a spokesperson of the Los Angeles Police Department.
No foul play is suspected but the accident is under investigation, said the Police.
Chekov in the Star Trek movie sequels
Yelchin was best known for playing Chekov in the Star Trek movie sequels. He starred in Star Trek, in 2009 and in Star Trek into Darkness in 2013. His upcoming movie Star Trek Beyond, is due to open on July 22 in the theaters.Yelchin was a bright actor known for his roles in the films, Green Room, Charlie Bartlett, Alpha Dog, Charlie Bartlett, Like Crazy. He had also worked with the big names of Hollywood, including Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Susan Sarandon, Robert Downey Jr., Jennifer Lawrence, and Diane Lane in a short span of time.

Anton Viktorovich Yelchin was born March 11, 1989, in Leningrad of erstwhile Soviet Union.
His parents, Irina Korina and Viktor Yelchin, famous pair-figure skaters were stars of the Leningrad Ice Ballet. When Yelchin was only six months old, his parent moved to the US. His father worked as a figure skating coach, while his mother worked as a figure skating choreographer. He attended the Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies in Tarzana, California, and enrolled at the University of Southern California in fall 2007 to study film.
Started acting career at the age of 9.
Yelchin began acting at the age of 9 in the A Man is Mostly Water. He starred in A Time for Dancing, Delivering Milo, House of D, and in the mini-series Taken. He acted in a season four episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and on the television series Huff, Law & Order: Criminal Intent. For his acting in Hearts in Atlantis (2001), he won Best Performance in a Feature Film – Leading Young Actor at the 2002 Young Artist Awards.
Director Guillermo del Toro, was due to work with Yelchin in his upcoming Netflix animated series which was announced only last week.
