Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have acquired the Cotswold farmhouse. It is a historic 18th century retreat in the Oxfordshire hills and the royal couple prefers this rather than Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. Their circle of friends include Celebrities from different walks of life ranging from the world of glitter and glamor to the world of sports. Meghan was an actor from Hollywood while Harry is a fighter pilot and has his Invictus Games.

It was at one of these games in 2017 that Meghan came into the limelight.

Daily Mail UK reports that the royal couple acquired a two-year lease on the property in May last year, and moved in before their wedding. Meghan's mother Doria Ragland has visited the farmhouse, and Harry and Meghan will retain it even when they shift to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before their first child sees the light of day.

Cotswold farmhouse is their country hideaway

The farmhouse is in close proximity to Soho Farmhouse, which is a favorite of the Duchess of Sussex. Many celebrity friends of the royal couple like David and Victoria Beckham have houses in the vicinity.

Meghan and Harry love to walk their dogs there, and the nature of the property provides solitude and a platform to take care of their friends. It underwent renovation in 2011 but security is a matter of concern for the ancient 19th-century property because it is not far from a popular walking track, Long Walk, that could affect privacy.

The Cotswold farmhouse is more spacious compared to the two-bedroom accommodation of Meghan and Harry at Nottingham Cottage and the five bedrooms at Frogmore. Moreover, the farmhouse has enough space for a nursery and a live-in nanny. These are necessary because the Duchess of Sussex is expecting her child soon and Meghan's mother Doria Ragland could stay with them full-time after the baby is born in late March or early April.

The country hideaway is a temporary affair

According to Mirror UK, Cotswolds farmhouse is the temporary royal residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They moved in shortly before their wedding in May last year and have been here since then. They will continue to remain there until completion of renovation work at Frogmore Cottage. This farmhouse is a stop-gap property and has already played host to guests like the Clooneys, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry boast a wide circle of friends and a country hideaway is ideal for them to relax. It is a world of their own because they would no doubt, want to let down their hair once in a while and a place like this will be very much in order.
