The animal charity Mayhew in London is the latest to get the patronage of Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. She is an animal lover and a rescue dog owner. Once there, she interacted with the staff and others to learn about the activities of the organization. To satisfy her curiosity, she saw several projects first-hand. The design of the projects will improve the lives of animals and people not only in the city but also globally.

People.com reports that Meghan, in the course of her visit, had a chance to meet members of the community and the animals who are beneficiaries of the charity.

She took a special linking for one of the dogs. It was a Jack Russell named Minnie and wanted to know if she was up for adoption. However, the royal couple was not too keen to take in another pet.

The Duchess of Sussex has a way with animals

Meghan Markle was an American actress before she met Prince Harry, married him and became a member of the British Royal Family. She now lives in London and, before arriving there, she had two rescue pups at her home in Toronto. She brought one of them along with her but had to leave the other one back with her friends because it was too old.

When she met the Queen for the first time at her engagement interview, there were a couple of corgis at the feet of Queen Elizabeth and they did not even bark.

Harry was present on the occasion and was surprised.

After their wedding, the American actress accepted a new lifestyle and molded herself to be accepted by not just the royal family but by others she came in contact with.

Meghan is an animal lover

According to Sky News, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is in an advanced state of pregnancy and made a trip to the animal welfare charity Mayhew in London.

She loves dogs and this charity is the latest addition to several others that include charities to empower women. Her charities reflect her passions and interests. She has revealed that she expects her baby around the end of April or the start of May.

The objective of the charity is to resettle cats and dogs. Simultaneously, it undertakes community work to extend support to animal lovers and educate them on how best to care for their Pets. The charity has a Therapaws program that is all about the positive therapeutic impact by animals when they visit people at home. Meghan herself is a dog lover and after their marriage, she and Prince Harry adopted a Labrador named Oz.
