Meghan Markle has a weakness for canines and she and her husband Prince Harry have adopted a rescue dog. It is a black Labrador named ‘Oz’. This name is believed to be significant because the Royal Couple is scheduled to visit Australia as a part of their first Royal tour, and ‘Oz’ is another name for the country.

Harper’s Bazaar reports that Meghan’s new acquisition will probably be accommodated at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. The Duchess of Sussex already has another dog with her. It is a Beagle named Guy, and she had brought it after she came over from Canada to Britain to marry Harry.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle adopt a dog

The Royal Couple loves canines and Meghan Markle, is gradually shedding her past image and integrating into a new culture. She was an American actress before Harry came into her life, and after a fairytale marriage she is now adjusting to a totally new lifestyle. She is a dog lover and, before her marriage to Prince Harry, she owned two. One of these was a Beagle named Guy, the other was a Labrador-German Shepherd mix named Bogart. She has now added a Labrador which she has named Oz.

She used to post photos of her dogs on social media but, once she became a member of the Royal family, she had to bid goodbye to such activities as per protocol.

Bogart used to be with Meghan when she was in Canada but he was aged. Hence, she decided to leave him with her friends. However, she arranged to get Guy to keep her company when she decided to shift residence to London and get married. The Beagle was seen at her wedding in the car alongside Queen Elizabeth.

Meghan reveals another side of her life

According to News AU, both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry love dogs and the new entrant in their lives is a Labrador named Oz. Before her marriage, she owned two canines which she had adopted from a rescue center in Los Angeles. At that time she was with her first husband, and loved to share pictures of her and her pets on various social platforms.

However, the meeting with Harry changed her life and today she is a member of the British royal family.

Meghan did not want to leave her dogs behind but had to forget Bogart because of his age. The plane journey from Toronto to England was a long one and it could have had serious repercussions. Anyway, she will probably meet him when she visits Canada. As to Guy, he is trained to eat only organic food and is enjoying his new life in Kensington Palace.
