"A widow honors her husband by the way she lives after he dies." Those were the words of John Armor from the New York Times article "Real life Can Be Raw, in Marriage and Death." We always see the glitz and the glamour of marriage, and even the occasional fight. Yet, marriage is not as simple as they make it out to be on television, and is far more complicated after the marriage ends.

When it ends with the burial of a beloved spouse, it can seem like a new and confusing world. Losing the person you shared your whole world with does not mean that your life is over. It signifies that life after loss is a constant struggle that will get better as time goes by.

Moving on after the death of a loved one

Grief can become a constant struggle for most people. It's important to know that when dealing with the loss of a Loved one that you are not alone and that people care about your well-being and want to see you happy again.

It's okay to take time and grieve for a loved one but, it's not okay when it consumes every aspect of your life.

Because other people in your life that want to see you, such as parents, aunts, uncles, and even your children. These people want to be a part of your life through the good and the bad. That includes your friends who seek to make sure you are okay.

The thing to remember about grief is that grieving has no set time limit. A question you may ask yourself is then how will I know when I am feeling better? The answer is when you realize that possibly not this week or the next, but in some random week that you had more good days than bad ones: And that you did not feel guilty for having those good days without your loved one there with you.

When going through grief, you may feel no one understands what you are going through, and it sometimes it helps to talk to a professional who can help you through these feelings.

Better yet, try some support groups and tell them about your struggles and consistent challenges. You may find comfort in talking to someone who understands your feelings. You may also realize that you have new friends who will help you through your life.

At the end of the day, it is okay for you to miss the person you love. It's okay to remember the time you spent with them and look back on those times. Just do not forget to live in the present, because life continues on, never stopping or ending. All you can ultimately do is move forward little by little each day. It won't be easy, but nothing worth doing is ever easy.
