Paris Fashion Week has been presenting the latest styles from major brands and designers over the past few days. It began on September 25 and will end on October 3. French clothing brand Lacoste proved to be a front-runner in the fashion industry by showcasing its newest collection inspired by mid-1990s sportswear, the New York Post reported. These pieces were rendered with modern remakes. The clothing brand’s show happened outdoors -- which was designed to appear like a sports stadium and tennis court as an expression of what the company is all about.

It was held at the Tuileries Gardens in Paris. There were several sports-inspired pieces during the runway show, such as bright yellow tracksuits, cuff denim trousers, cardigans with golden buttons and jackets. There were also long coats, knit outfits, silk dresses and the classic polo shirt collection.

Founded by tennis player Rene Lacoste in the 1930s, Lacoste’s runway show would not be complete without the crocodile image embedded in the presented designs. This year’s collection was spearheaded by its creative director, Felipe Oliveira Baptista as he celebrated its 85th anniversary.

Nina Ricci

Meanwhile, Nina Ricci established its presence as a leading French fashion house through a stunning runway show headed by creative director Guillaume Henry.

The show was held outdoors at Les Invalides featuring designs inspired by Imperial India and Don Quixote, Vogue reported. The runway event started with jackets buttoned with brass accessories, large-sized pockets, and squared shoulders. There were also remarkable designer accessories such as belts and white laces. The show featured biker shorts, fashion pieces that have recently become popular in Paris.

It transformed with softer, glamorous pieces such as nylon coats, midi dresses, scarves, and other contemporary pieces.

Elie Saab

Elie Saab’s event was entirely a different scenario.

The designer showcased a nature-inspired collection with animal prints and brighter colors. There were outfits with snakeskin prints, both with versions of trousers, short skirts, and long skirts. The regular appearances of white matched with palettes of red, brown and green. Some of the fabric had bird-inspired prints as well. This designer hails from Lebanon but is also holding workshops in Paris and Milan. The house usually specializes in bridal couture gowns but also offers ready-to-wear outfits.

Paris Fashion Week is also set to hold shows featuring designers and brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Balenciaga. Hermes and Alexander McQueen will also present their collections.
