Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, Miss USA 2016 Kara McCullough, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach graced the global conference of hair care brand Farouk Systems, recently held in Mexico. The three-day affair showcased these beauty queens in a runway hair Fashion Show, featuring the products of the brand.

Farouk Systems is a hair care manufacturing company based in Houston, Texas.

Headed by hairdresser Farouk Shami, the company produces high-end products such as CHI and BioSilk. They have been providing the beauty and fashion industries with hair care technology since the 1980s, according to the company's website.

As one of the official sponsors of the annual pageant, Farouk Systems invited over some representatives from the Miss Universe organization to be featured in their big event held in Cancun, Mexico. The company’s global conference, called "Light It Up," gathered famous hairdressers from around the world, industry leaders and innovators, and educated them about the latest innovations in the field of hair care.

Reunited

Beauty queens Mittenaere, McCullough, and Wurtzbach were reunited during a fashion show, where they showcased their best looks, styled by the company itself. They joined former Miss USA pageant candidates Olivia Jordan and Nia Sanchez, who represented Oklahoma and Nevada in the 2014 and 2015 editions of the pageant, respectively.

The hair runway show was just part of the many other events that happened during the global conference. It included show presentations, educational workshops, networking, business coaching, and galas. The conference ran from August 25 to August 28.

This year’s global convention organized by Farouk Systems featured two new shows on the line. They launched a show that focused on men’s hairstyles.

It had world-renowned barbers who demonstrated the latest styles and techniques when dealing with men’s hairstyles.

Official sponsor

The hair care line has been a sponsor of the pageant for many years, with past winners such as Olivia Culpo from the USA and Gabriela Isler from Venezuela signing up to become the brand ambassadors of the company.

“I began Farouk Systems on a mission and a dream," the CEO states in the company's official website. "My mission and dream was to provide fellow hair professionals with a safer workplace environment free of unhealthy chemicals, advanced knowledge through education and new professional-only systems that could not be duplicated at home." The mission statement has always been about the environment, education, and ethics, he adds.
