Pandora: The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a complete world, with the sights and sounds of the “Avatar” planet surrounding you at every step. However, this special world wouldn’t be complete without tastes, too. The Satu’li Canteen serves up fresh cuisine inspired by the culture of the Na’vi, complete with native art as the décor.
Dine on native Pandora dishes
As the story goes, Satu’li Canteen was once the RDA mess hall on Pandora. Now that the destructive mining has been purged from the planet and Alpha Centauri Expeditions has started ecotourism, visitors to the planet can dine here in a fast-casual atmosphere with menu items to appeal to just about anyone’s tastes. The restaurant offers counter service, allowing guests to dine at their own pace. Relax and eat at a leisurely pace or make it a quick meal so you can get back to exploring the newest addition to Disney's Animal Kingdom. No reservations are required. Just head over when you're hungry and face the daunting task of choosing your meal from among the many mouthwatering options at this new but already popular Walt Disney World eatery.
Eat any time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Satu’li Canteen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to accommodate guests who arrive as early as possible to try to beat the crowds drawn in by Pandora’s massive popularity, and those who stick around after dark for the stunning nighttime scenery. You’ll find meat, fish, and vegetarian options, with a focus on fresh and sustainable. You can even build your own bowl, and be sure to save room for dessert as there are some colorful culinary options to top off your meal. Hear from Chef Richard Meacham himself as he describes the main dishes and drinks during the opening celebration over Memorial Day weekend at Disney's Animal Kingdom in the Walt Disney World resort.
Refreshing new drinks at Walt Disney World
If you just want a quick and colorful drink, Pongu Pongu sits just outside of Satu’li.
The backstory says that a visitor fell so deeply in love with Pandora that he just couldn’t leave. Instead, he stuck around and opened a watering hole catering to the tourists. Pongu Pongu actually means “party party” in the native tongue, and that includes specialties like bioluminescent cocktails and local beers. The frozen drinks in particular are very refreshing in the steamy Pandora atmosphere that bears a close resemblance to a tropical Florida summer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
