Fans will be excited to know that Scarlett Johansson, Francis Ford Coppola, and Tom Hanks will grace the Tribeca Film Festival, starting on April 19. All of them are forefronts with their upcoming projects. Sam Lake, Hideo Kojima, and Ken Levine belong to the world of video games with “BioShock,” “Max Payne” and “Metal Gear” as their respective credits.

According to New York Post, at least 120 full-length films, documentaries, and short films have been selected from over 85,00 submissions.

The jury members, Craig Hatkoff, Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, will choose the best movies and documentaries for a prize. Last year, Chuck Close, Julian Schnabel, and Alex Katz took the stage with their dance performances. Now we look forward to Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks performances. The two stars seem to be ready to win our hearts. Short clips of their rehearsals have been uploaded on the official YouTube to create excitement among fans.

The Tribeca Film Festival entries

Clive Jay Davis will open the fest on April 19 with a brief concert alongside Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow, and Jennifer Hudson.

He is a famous American record producer who won dozens of awards. He is the founding chairman of Columbia Records and Arista Records. Clive will be at the fest to promote his upcoming projects. Immediately after Clive’s performance, the screening of projects by James Caan, Robert De Niro, Robert Duvall and Al Pacino will begin. “Iron Man,” “Swingers” and “The Jungle Book” are included in the lineup. Jon Favreau’s sequels “Very Bad Things,” “Cowboys & Aliens” and “The Jungle Book” will be screened for a prize. He is already famous for “The Avengers,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and the sitcom “Friends.”

The TV shows at the fest

The first few episodes of “The Handmaid’s Tale” will premiere at the fest on April 22.

This new series features Elisabeth Moss as Offred. The story is about several working women who are forced to live miserable lives. Their men don’t want them to step out of the house to earn a living, so the ladies decide to continue their jobs secretly. This series will be screened at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Another TV show in the lineup is “The Public Image is Rotten.” It is a 12-episode program that tells the story of a music artist John Lydon. In the peak days of his career, Lydon doesn’t care for his belongings and relatives. He becomes selfish and eventually sees his fate. The series will be screened on April 21 at Spring Studios Tribeca Festival Hub.

Erik Nelson’s short film “A Gray State,” Debra Winger’s documentary “The Lovers,” and Amanda Seyfried’s television sitcom “The Clapper” will premiere on April 23 at SVA Theater.

Scarlett’s biopic “Tom of Finland” and Tom’s thriller “The Circle” are more anticipated than the other projects in the lineup. However, we cannot say whether these projects will win a prize at the fest or not. They’ll be screened on April 26 at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.
