Epic Games released a big update for "Fortnite Battle Royale" and it's clear that another in-game event is going to happen very soon. Season 8 of the popular video game entered its eighth week on Thursday, April 18. The next event should come in less than three weeks. It appears that it will happen again in the central part of the map, Loot Lake, and Epic Games has dropped numerous clues about it.
Loot Lake was included in the Butterfly event that happened during Season 6 of "Fortnite Battle Royale." This event also featured Kevin the Cube, and it appears that the cube will once again play a major role in the storyline of the video game.
Epic Games has not released the official plot of the game, so players will have to put together all the pieces of the puzzle and try to guess what is going on.
The event is coming very soon
The "Fortnite Battle Royale" developer added numerous files to the game data with the v8.40 update. The in-game island has received some major changes, including something that looks like a facility in the center of the lake. Shortly after the last update was released, a rune appeared at the facility, and another one has popped up northeast of Lucky Landing. I am guessing that more runes will appear as the season approaches its conclusion.
The facility at the center of Loot Lake includes a hatch which may be connected to two other mysterious hatches on the island.
Data miner Lucas7yoshi has found some interesting files in the game data which show what the hatch looks like from underneath. In addition to this, the data miner has revealed that it's called a Getaway Hatch in the game files.

Another data miner has found sound files that will be included in the upcoming event.
The data miner, who uses the name HYPEX on Twitter, has revealed event sound files that have three different names: Sleepy, Leaky, and Snow. There is a chance that Epic Games will release three different events by the end of Season 8, although this is very unlikely. These events will probably be combined into one long event that will introduce "Fortnite Battle Royale" players to Season 9.
Considering that Kevin the Cube printed runes over the in-game island back in Season 5, I expect it to return to the game and play a major role in the event.
When will the event happen?
At the moment, it is unknown when the upcoming "Fortnite Battle Royale" event will be released. However, Epic Games has released all other major in-game events in the last two or three weeks of seasons, so we can expect the same to happen this time. Season 8 is scheduled to end on May 8, which means that the event will most likely happen within the next two weeks.
