Respawn Entertainment has made "Apex Legends" incredibly popular in its first month of the release. The video game now has over 50 million players, only one month after its official release, and it keeps growing and becomes more popular. For the first time in over a year, "Fortnite Battle Royale" has a serious competitor, and it will be interesting to see how these two games will compete with each other in the future.
One thing that made "Fortnite Battle Royale" popular is the frequency of game updates. Its developer has decided to release at least one update every week, which is what turned out to be an amazing idea.
"Apex Legends," on the other hand, doesn't get as many updates. However, Respawn Entertainment has recently released a big update, and there will be more changes that will come with the start of Season 1.
'Apex Legends' season 1 changes
The "Apex Legends" creator announced that Season 1 would start in March 2019. Many players believed it would start on March 1, which is something that did not happen. Respawn Entertainment is still working on the first season of the popular game and the Battle Pass, so we can expect it to come out in a week or two. Players are eagerly waiting for the Battle Pass and its cosmetic rewards, so hopefully, the game developer won't disappoint with it.
Right now, players know a few changes that will be made at the start of Season 1.
Jayfresh_Respawn has announced these changes on Reddit, showing players what will happen when the season goes live. Several "Apex Legends" characters will receive hitbox and ability changes.
Caustic, Pathfinder, and Gibraltar will have their hitboxes adjusted at the start of the first season. The video game developer will test these changes and make more adjustments during the season if necessary.
Caustic will also receive a huge buff as the cooldown of his Nox Gas Trap ability will be reduced to 25 seconds, down from 30. In addition, the ability will have its radius and proximity radius increased by 10 percent. Finally, the one-second delay on the smoke dealing damage to enemies will be removed as well.
More character changes
Respawn Entertainment will increase the number of beacons in the world to 12 from 10 for Pathfinder's Insider Knowledge ability. Lifeline's Care Package will also be changed as the developer will remove a slight chance that level 4 armor and helmets will drop.
Wraith's Into the Voice ability will have its cooldown increased from 25 to 30 seconds, and Bangalore's Double Time will give a 30 percent move speed bonus, instead of 40 percent.
