The seventh season of "Fortnite Battle Royale" is slowing coming to an end. Players have already entered week 7, and even though the season is going to last longer than the previous seasons, its storyline will be revealed very soon. As many players have predicted, the final event of the season will be centered around Polar Peak and the Ice King. The best thing? Epic Games will release the event on Saturday, January 19!
At the moment, we don't have a lot of details about the event, but the game developer has hinted at several things that are most likely going to happen on Saturday.
In addition, players can now see a live countdown to the event on television sets in the game. From the moment of this writing, there is a bit over a day left on the countdown, which means that the next "Fortnite Battle Royale" event will start at 2 PM eastern time.
The upcoming event
The v7.20 patch has added even more change to Polar Peak. The dungeon with dragon eggs can now be accessed in a regular way and there is a frozen sphere floating above this area. When players approach the sphere, their screen completely freezes and they can see the Ice King inside of it. The Ice King is the final skin of season 7 Battle Pass, and it appears that he is a villain of this season.
The week 7 loading screen reveals even more info about the upcoming event.
The loading screen is called "Unexpected Awakening" and it features the Ice King on his throne at Polar Peak. "Why am I awake?! The ice was never supposed to thaw," is the caption of the loading screen. Considering that the snow around Polar Peak has been slowly melting since the start of the season, it is obvious that this is the reason why the king has awoken.

Furthermore, the week 8 loading screen features the Ice King once again. While we still don't know what's happening in the image, it appears that the character is using his powers to bring the ice back.
It is important to note that the snow has been slowly spreading over the in-game island, which means there is a good chance that it will be completely covered by snow after the upcoming event.
The event start
The Rocket Launch event, which happened in season 4, has probably been the biggest in-game event in "Fortnite Battle Royale." That event happened at 1:30 pm EST, but the upcoming event will happen at 8:00 pm EST. This is probably going to be another live event, which means that you will have to login and enter a match before 8:00 pm EST in order to witness it.
