The latest updates for "Red Dead Redemption 2" reveal that the game will have two physical discs when it comes out in stores. It originally started out as a rumor that spread on online forums and video websites, but various online retailers have confirmed it and each disc has a specific function for the consoles.

Rockstar Games announced that the western prequel video game will have a Day 1 patch update that fixes various bugs within the system. "RDR2" will have players assume the role of Arthur Morgan as he and his gang survive the harsh cruel open-world of the Frontier in order to have a better life.

Two discs package

According to Game Rant, the back cover of the physical copy of "Red Dead Redemption 2" in Japan confirms that the game will include two Blu-ray discs for the PlayStation 4 and possibly for the Xbox One console. The first disc will allow the players to install the game on the console, while the other one is where they can actually play it. This also explains the huge download size of the game.

Video game fans will no longer have to worry about switching discs in the middle of the story as they will only one for the whole thing.

It was previously reported that Rockstar Games could launch "RDR2" next year for the PC platform and European retail website, MediaKit, placed it as December 31, 2019.

However, this will depend on the game's performance and popularity amongst the fans. Rockstar will also conduct the beta test for the online multiplayer mode, "Red Dead Online."

Day 1 patch update confirmed

According to VG 24/7, Rockstar Games confirmed that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have a Day 1 patch update and it will fix the performance of the game when it is properly installed on the consoles.

The patch size will be at 3.30GB for the PS4 and 3.2GB for the Xbox One.

"The Day-One Title Update includes a range of across-the-board improvements and bug fixes for optimal performance," Rockstar announced. "We strongly recommend making sure you have downloaded the Title Update before launching the game, to ensure the best possible gameplay experience."

The open-world western prequel game will feature seven locations for players to explore and move around in.

Arthur can talk to people around the camp and in the city as each conversation will unlock side quests. Players can hunt down wild animals for food or trade, go fishing on lakes and rivers, or drink and gamble with friends in the camp and in bars.

The "Dead Eye" system will now allow Arthur to slow down time and target vital targets of his enemies for an efficient kill. "RDR2" will launch on October 26 for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
