Square Enix released new photos for "Kingdom Hearts 3" revealing the two playable worlds for the game. The screenshots reveal the hob worlds of Twilight Town and Mt. Olympus from the Disney animated movie "Hercules."

There are also photos of new and returning characters in the game. "Kingdom Hearts 3" will feature Sora and his friends traveling to old and new Disney worlds to prevent the Heartless and Organization XIII from taking the pure hearts of the new princesses. Sora must master new abilities and recruit new allies in their war against them, while Riku and King Mickey must save their former comrade, Aqua, from succumbing to her darkness.

Introducing Twilight Town and Mt. Olympus

According to WCCFTech, Square Enix released new photos for "Kingdom Hearts 3" featuring Twilight Town and Mt. Olympus. Twilight Town is the main hub city within the game and it serves as the Keyblade wielders' main base of operations. From there, players can explore several places such as Ansem's lab and the Old Mansion.

As for Olympus, this is the first time that players will explore the homeworld of the Greek Gods in the "Hercules" film as the previous games mostly highlighted the gladiator arena where Hercules trains. The photos also revealed that Olympus is being invaded by the Heartless and the Titans led by Hades.

SegmentNext previously reported that "KH3" will feature 10 to 19 Disney worlds in the game and so far Square Enix showed several worlds from various films such as "Frozen," "Tangled," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Toy Story," "Monsters Inc.," and "Big Hero 6." Sora and his friends can use the Gummi Ship to travel to the said worlds and fight off space fighters along the way.

New characters revealed

According to Comic Book, the "KH3" photos also revealed new and returning characters to the franchise. Hercules' father Zeus and his love interest, Megara are added to the cast as they help the Greek hero and Sora stop Hades from taking over Olympus.

Roxas' friends Pence, Hayden, Olette, and Ienzo will also return in the third game as they assist Sora in stopping their enemies and possibly bring their friend back.

They can be found hanging around Twilight Town.

Sora will not be the only playable character in the sequel as characters like Riku, Kairi, Axel, and more will have their own individual quests to stop Xehanort.

It was previously reported that Square Enix is in "deep talks" to have the game ported to the Nintendo Switch after its launch from the consoles

"Kingdom Hearts 3" will launch on January 25 in Japan and January 29 worldwide for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
