Things are going up for pro-gamer Matthew Haag who’s better known by his handle Nadeshot after his surprise announcement that the rapper and songwriter Drake has invested on his eSports team 100 Thieves and made him as the gaming collective’s co-owner. He made the reveal over on Twitter as the gaming community has been sending out congratulatory messages on such a move.
Dexerto is one of the gaming publications who covered the story as they stated that such team-up has already been hinted over a month ago when Drake followed both Nadeshot and 100 Thieves’ Instagram accounts.
The collaboration was revealed yesterday, October 23 alongside the team’s announcement that it completed its Series A funding round with SB Projects’ Scooter Braun who was also inducted as the Thieves’ co-owner.
Thanking the people who helped him along the way
In line with this, Nadeshot also took to Twitter to thank Braun in helping 100 Thieves grow and push eSports further. He went on stating that he’s beyond thrilled to welcome him as a partner and co-owner of the team. Braun, on the other hand, stated that the pro-gamer had a “clear vision for where eSports is going and how to build an amazing brand within it” to which Nadeshot responded that his co-owner has defined pop culture with some of the known artists he’s worked with adding that it’s unbelievable that he and his team were able to tap on that knowledge.

Even the Cavs owner believed in him
Prior to this, Quicken Loans and Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert also partnered with Nadeshot’s team back in late 2017 as 100 Thieves received millions of dollars’ worth of investment through that joint venture.
It was also on that same year where the team delved into the clothing line business.
As mentioned, the gaming community has been sending out messages congratulating the pro-gamer on this momentous event in his career. Tweets from fellow content creators, streamers, and even pro-gamers from other teams have been flooding his Twitter as of late, not to mention that his announcement tweet a ton of likes from the community.
100 Thieves has been fielding teams in popular titles such as “Fortnite” and “Call of Duty.” They also have teams on equally popular games like “League of Legends” and even “Clash Royale.” For the uninitiated, the team also has several streamers under their wing namely Nickmercs (Nick Kolcheff), NoahJ456, and the most recent being Rachel Hostetter who’s popularly known as Valkyrae. That said, the team is currently looking for people for their content team and more pro gamers and streamers.
