Studio Wildcard previously announced that the fourth installment of “ARK: Survival Evolved’s” Extinction Chronicles will be rolled out to survivors. That day has finally arrived as a server-side update is slated to go live today on all platforms. The developer’s recently released Community Crunch (149) blog post detailed Extinction Chronicle 4’s contents, including some hotfixes and tweaks that will go alongside it.

Just like previous Chronicles, the new patch will be rolling out three new Explorer Notes and a new Tek dino – the Tek Parasaur. It was also mentioned that a Corrupted Shirt will be the latest addition to the Extinction-themed clothing line.

The new Tek-themed dino

According to the patch notes, the Tek Parasaur will have a 20 percent higher base level, a new breeding line, and five percent chance to spawn. The developer also stated that the patch will be increasing players’ maximum level by one and they also revealed that a new color set (black and green) will be included in the update.

Wildcard further explained that more powerful Tek dinos will be appearing within the ARKs every month. These metallic lizards will be permanent additions to the game and will continue to spawn even after the event is done. At the moment, Tek variants of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus, and the Raptor were already introduced in the game alongside some Corrupted skins.

Several fixes

As mentioned, the update will also be implementing several fixes and tweaks within “ARK.” The patch notes stated that the Cliff Platform’s build radius will be decreased by half.

It was also mentioned that hole fixes will be deployed on The Island, The Center, Scorched Earth, Ragnarok, and Aberration. Lastly, Electric Storms will no longer affect Windmills.

A few days ago, Wildcard also announced the third installment of their “ARK: Survival Evolved” Modding Contest. This modding competition will have a $28,000 prize pool where the best mod will be bringing home $15,000.

The competition is currently accepting entries and mod authors can work either solo or as a team.

Server wipe incoming

Meanwhile, the developer also announced that on Monday, September 24, low population servers of “ARK” on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be scrubbed off from their official legacy network. Wildcard added that these doomed servers will be shut down on Monday, though they pointed out that other servers that are not deemed low pop will still remain within the Legacy network. However, survivors who are still in these servers will no longer be able to transfer stuff to the new servers.
