Niantic has recently rolled out a research quest that would give trainers the opportunity to catch the so-called time travel PokemonCelebi. However, some players are beginning to complain about a bug that won’t allow them to progress in these sets of quests.

Pokemon GO” trainers are very much acquainted by now about the Celebi Special Research Tasks’ eight stages as a lot of them are now on its second stage. The issue begins though on its third quest where the requisite is catching a Pokemon for three straight days. As mentioned, the bug is somewhat not registering the players’ catch streak as they remained at 1/3 albeit the fact that they’ve already caught three monsters in a row.

Redditor u/Crakkerz79 is just one of many trainers that have been experiencing the issue as he already brought this to light to both Pokemon GO and The Silph Road subreddits. Fellow trainers then advised him several workarounds to fix the bug but to no avail.

He even created a ticket for this bug to Pokemon GO Support to which they replied stating that if the catch streak is not registering, it might take some and assured the Redditor that it does get registered. The game’s support team also advised him to log out from his account, clear his cache, force stop the game, and restart his device if the issue persists.

Niantic’s response

At the time of writing, Niantic has finally addressed the progression issue as they took to Twitter to state that they are aware of the so-called “A Ripple in Time” quest bug.

They also assured its player base that there’s no time limit in completing the Special Research adding that they are now working on a fix for the ongoing bug.
