Game developer Epic Games has rolled out another “Fortnite” update (V5.21) where it officially added the beast of a weapon – the Heavy Sniper Rifle in the game’s battle royale mode. It also introduced a couple of Limited Time Modes where one of them will make a good use out of the new weapon. As always, some of the game files were also tweaked as data miners discovered some upcoming contents in the game which include a game mode and a foraged item.

Data miner FortniteLeaks (Fortnitee_Leaks) recently tweeted out several screenshots of some game assets hinting at a new Limited Time Mode initially dubbed as Velocity.

FNBRLeaks also took notice of the upcoming LTM as he claims in his recent post that Velocity is a high-mobility LTM adding that gliders can be re-deployed whenever players fall from large heights. Items such as Impulse Grenades, ATKs, and Bounce Pads will also be spawning throughout the map, not to mention that storms will be moving twice as fast than it normally should. The game mode will be available in solos, duos, and squads.

The Chili Pepper

FortniteLeaks also stated that a new foraged item was also discovered within the Velocity game assets. Known in the files as Chili Peppers, the yet to be released item’s effect is still undisclosed though the word “speed boost” can also be found alongside it.

Players might recall a few months back about the leaked 3D renders of the so-called Durr consumables. One of them includes an item known as the Durr Hot Sauce as leakers back then claim that this item, when consumed, will grant players a speed boost for a limited amount of time.

Week 7 challenges

Another leaker – Storm (StormLeaks) also took to Twitter to reveal season 5’s week 7 challenges.

He made it clear though that the quests are still subject change:

  • Visit the center of named locations in a single match (0/4)
  • Search Supply Drops (0/3)
  • SMG eliminations (0/3)
  • Deal headshot damage to opponents (0/500)
  • Search Chests in Lucky Landing (0/7)
  • Follow the Treasure Map found in Pleasant Park (0/1)
  • Eliminate opponents in Lazy Links (0/3)

He also tweeted out something about the upcoming Galaxy skin and claims that a Samsung US employee has confirmed that the skin will be exclusive to folks who’ll be purchasing the Note 9 and Tab S4. However, @FNBRLeaks pointed out that this could be fake as he reached out to other Samsung representatives and received contrasting responses.

Meanwhile, Epic Games has re-enabled the Rifts in “Fortnite’s” battle royale mode after they temporarily disabled it due to a bug.

The developer also made a tweak with the recently released Sniper Shootout LTM as they switched the game mode from solos to duos.
