"Fortnite Battle Royale" developer Epic Games has tried to make the popular video game as balanced as possible, with birthday events and player rewards. Considering that this is a battle royale game, which heavily relies on the RNG, players' luck plays a big role in it. However, the game developer is constantly making changes to make sure that skilled players are not put at a disadvantage against players who simply get lucky.

These changes have resulted in a series of updates Epic Games has recently released. The game developer has nerfed shotguns and buffed submachine guns, making these close-range weapons equally good in nearly every situation.

Now, the developer is getting ready to release another legendary weapon, and as many leaks have already indicated, the new legendary weapon will be a submachine gun.

Legendary SMG

For the past few months, there have been many "Fortnite Battle Royale" leaks about a legendary submachine gun. Finally, Epic Games has made an in-game announced about the new gun and it will most likely be released on Tuesday, July 24, as part of the Week 3 challenges. Considering that Epic Games is planning a birthday event on this day, we will most likely get it all in a single update.

As the leaks have revealed, the legendary submachine gun will be a P90. The new gun will come in two rarities, epic and legendary, and it will excel in close quarters combat.

There aren't many details about this gun and players don't know its damage and fire rate. However, considering the submachine gun that was released a few days ago, we can expect the new gun to have around 300 DPS.

According to the in-game announcement, the new weapon will be called Compact SMG. Just like it's the case with assault rifles, there will be three basic rarities of submachine guns, with two high-end variants that have different models.

For assault rifles, players use an M4 for lower rarities, while a SCAR is a high-end variant. On the other side, a standard variant of a submachine gun is an MP5 with a P90 high-end variant.

Special in-game event

"Fortnite Battle Royale" players will have a unique chance to win some free cosmetic items next week. Epic Games will hold a birthday celebration event in the game, and there will be exclusive rewards players can get in both PvP and PvE modes. Additionally, players will get a new Battle Bus! The game developer hasn't revealed how long this special event will last, but we can expect it to be in the game for at least one week.
