"Fortnite Battle Royale" players haven't been very satisfied with the latest update which was released on Tuesday. While patch 5.10 brought some amazing things, such as the special in-game event for the first birthday of the video game, it also ruined the balance by adding a new submachine gun. The new legendary gun has a decent fire rate and damage output, but what makes it overpowered is the fact that the magazine contains 50 bullets.
In addition to this, Epic Games also nerfed buildings by drastically reducing the hit points of certain structures.
Even though many players are unhappy with the latest changes, it seems that the game developer will keep nerfing buildings and building materials. According to the latest leaks, a wall-piercing sniper rifle could be the next weapon added to "Fortnite Battle Royale."
Heavy Sniper Rifle
FNBRLeaks' Twitter page recently posted some interesting news about a new sniper rifle that could be added to "Fortnite Battle Royale" very soon. This sniper rifle, called Heavy Sniper Rifle, would be a unique weapon due to its wall-piercing ability, and it could come out next week. You can see what this gun looks like in "Fortnite" in the video below.
This will be a bolt sniper rifle with a slow reload speed. Its damage is currently unknown, but we know that it will be a legendary item.
The upcoming sniper rifle won't use the AWP model that the Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle uses. Instead, the real-life counterpart of this sniper rifle is a Barrett M82. Despite being a different model, the weapon will use heavy bullets, just like other long-range weapons in the game.
The in-game description of this item reads: "Heavy.
Powerful and accurate rifle with a bolt-action mechanism with an extremely slow reload. Shots pierce through the first wall it hits." Fortunately for players, this sniper rifle's bullets will only pierce through the first wall. This will still be a problem for many players, but we won't know how good the new weapon is until Epic Games releases it.
New patch
"Fortnite Battle Royale" players will get a new patch next week, most likely on Tuesday, July 31. It will be interesting to see what Epic Games will do regarding the new submachine gun, P90, as many players believe that the gun should be nerfed. Additionally, the latest building nerf wasn't received well by the community, which is another change that could be reverted.
In the meantime, players will be busy finishing Week 3 challenges which will be released on Thursday at 9AM EDT.
