The Pokémon Company, along with Nintendo, excited many fans around the world by announcing the new release of a video game that will be part of Nintendo’s most recent console, the Nintendo Switch. Most of the information in this article comes from a report by Polygon. The game will feature two installments starring the famous Pikachu and one of the most popular Pokémon for its wide variety of evolutions, Eevee. In commemoration of the 20 years since the first game in the saga was released under the title "Pokémon Yellow," all of this adventure will take place in the Kanto region.

We will play it in all the cities that we have known for the past two decades and we'll venture to catch the beloved and always remembered first 150 Pokémon. “Pokémon Let’s Go” will come with a lot of novelties and wonders for the fans.

New elements in ‘Pokémon Let’s Go’ for the saga

Among the new things this adventure has brought us is the complete elimination of random encounters with wild Pokémon. This was something tedious that we lived with for years, walking in tall grass and having to face every wild Pokémon that came our way. Now we can choose which one we want to cross, as the wild Pokémon of the area we're walking around in, will be visible on the game map. The most radical change that was made is the ability to change the combat mode to catch wild Pokémon.

Previously, you had to fight the wild Pokémon to capture it, and with this, we also made it possible for our Pokémon to gain experience points that helped them to evolve to the next level and become stronger. The change was inspired by the mobile version of “Pokémon GO,” so now the Pokémon will be captured as in that edition, i.e.

only throwing them the Pokeball, and the effectiveness will vary according to the way and technique you throw it.

They bring back modalities forgotten by fans

Despite all the changes the game has undergone, there are certain qualities that have been discarded in more recent releases and some fans have wanted them to come back.

Like the one we saw in "Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver," which was to be able to have our initial Pokémon accompany us out of their Pokeball and touring the cities with us. The actual sizes of the Pokémon were also adjusted, such as the larger ones like Snorlax, Onix, Charizard, and Lapras. We are able to use the skills of these last three, such as walking over Onix, flying with Charizard, or sailing with Lapras.
