May has been a month of special events in the "Pokemon GO" community. The first was the Battle Showdown event which ended recently. The second is the upcoming Community Day event which will start on May 19, and finally, the Adventure Week event which will start on the same day. Surprisingly, this is the first time in the history of the game for such an event to happen. Kudos to Developer Niantic for making this possible.

Before the event goes live, there are certain things you need to know about the event.

The return of Rock-type based event

The Adventure Week event, also known as the Rock-type based event is a seven-day celebration of exploration and adventure in "Pokemon GO." According to Developer Niantic, it is one of the most successful "Pokemon GO" events that were held last year. In fact, it is one of the most valuable events that has happened in the game so far. One of the most interesting things about the game is that it is larger, longer, and profitable for anyone who partakes. The event will start on May 19 and last through May 25.

The remaining few weeks of the month will be weeks of double rewards.

Trainers will experience classic Pokemon gameplay on their mobile devices as they travel around the globe catching special and rare Pokemon. For now, we are not yet sure if some Shiny forms of Generation 1 Pokemon will be featured. Nevertheless, we are being hopeful that this year's "Pokemon GO" Adventure Week event will be more interesting than last year's.

What you should expect

The Rock-type based event offers great and mind-blowing rewards to participating Trainers such as increased rock spawns, increased PokeStop drops, a new avatar or in-game clothing, special quest, 50 percent discount for PokeBalls in the store, and 4x faster candy gains.

Your Buddy Pokemon will remain in the adventuring spirit throughout the duration of the game. Last year's event featured Rock-typed Pokemon such as Aerodactyl, Sudowoodo, Onix, Omanyte, Kabuto, and their evolutions. This years event may feature, Chansey, Dratini, Larvitar, Lileep, Cradily, Anorith, Corsola, Magcargo, Snorlax, Porygon, Larvitar, Pupitar, Tyranitar, Omanyte, Omastar, Shuckle, Magcargo, Shuckle, some Shiny Rock-type creatures from Generation 1, other non-Rock-type Pokemon that are viable in the meta, and special Rock themed bosses.

This is the best time to explore the world around you, make some new memories, and get the best of "Pokemon GO." Therefore prepare yourselves for new bonuses and special activities to enter the adventurous spirit.
