"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered" is reportedly coming this year, but nothing has been officially announced.
This hasn't stopped gamers from being excited! Following the first remake, they're expecting 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered' to be announced by the game's publishing company, Activision, any day now, but so far their Twitter page seems to only be promoting 'Black Ops 4'. Many fans on Twitter are expecting them to be released together to boost 'Black Ops 4' sales, or are even more excited for the unconfirmed remake, either paying no attention to the new game or showing complete disinterest in it.
Can we just remaster Modern Warfare 2 and call it a day @CallofDuty

If they for real remaster Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 I won't leave the house for days. Best video game of all time and it's not even close

The remake was first reported by CharlieIntel when rumors on Amazon Italy showed an early listing, and possible pre-order dates began to pop up on other large retailers' channels. 'Modern Warfare Remastered' was originally only available with premium 'Infinite Warfare', but due to the standalone pre-orders, it seems as though 'Modern Warfare 2 Remaster' will be a game separate from the upcoming 'Black Ops 4'.
The release date is possibly April 30, way before the October date for 'Black Ops 4' and it has been observed from the listings that the prices for 'Modern Warfare 2 Remastered' will be lower than 'Black Ops 4' and the previous remake, despite the fact that it will be a standalone game. Why?
You'll be playing by yourself
Many have stated 'Modern Warfare 2' to be the most iconic game in the 'Call of Duty' franchise.
It places you in the midst of war (or at least in the characters' point of view), and online capabilities and playing against your friends is what draws most people to these first-person shooters. Who doesn't love hearing the cry of agony from your friend over the mic, or right beside you, when you win against them again?
According to reports from several different news sources, you won't be able to hear that in the remaster, because they're taking out multiplayer.
What?
CharlieIntel learned from a source, reportedly a Raven Software employee (the studio supposedly producing the remake) is a campaign-only remake, and will not have multiplayer features. This is likely the explanation for why the price is slashed in half from 'Modern Warfare Remastered', which had been sold for $40. The projected price of 'Modern Warfare 2 Remastered' is only $20.
Kotaku, another source, confirmed during a twitch stream that the game will be campaign-only, and will not have any multiplayer features.
'Black Ops 4' will have a community reveal event on May 17, 2018, and the global launch date is set for October 12, 2018.
