Season 2 of "Fortnite Battle Royale" has come to an end, and another season is already on its way. The second season of the popular video game introduced Battle Pass and over 40 cosmetic rewards for players, and that is something the game developer will keep doing in season 3. The upcoming season will have even more rewards, more fun, and more challenges for dedicated "Fortnite" players.

There will be over 70 new items players can earn in season 3, and some of them are new reward types, such as back blings, loading screens, and skydiving FX trails.

"Fortnite Battle Royale" patch V.3.0.0 has been released for the new season and matchmaking was disabled at 3:35 AM EST. Downtime for the patch began 25 minutes later, and there is currently no ETA on when players will be able to get back in the game.

Season 3 rewards

There will be 76 new cosmetic rewards in season 3 of "Fortnite Battle Royale," including six new skins. Players will also be able to obtain three new pickaxes, three new gliders, and four emotes. In addition, there will be eight loading screens, five skydiving trails, and three back blings.

The new season will have 100 tiers, but the game developer claims it should take no longer than 150 hours to get to the maximum tier. Additionally, daily challenges will be replaced by weekly challenges, and players will have to complete four of them to get a reward.

New weapon

"Fortnite Battle Royale" received the fourth weapon this year as Hand Cannon was added to the weapon pool. This is the second pistol that was added to the game in 2018 as the game developer added a Suppressed Pistol in early January. The new weapon will have Epic and Legendary variants and will use heavy bullets.

Double pump nerf

Firing the Pump Shotgun and quickly switching weapons will now require you to pump the shotgun before the next shot, which means that players will no longer be able to use the double pump technique.

60 FPS on console

PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One and Xbox One X now support 60 FPS mode, and players will be able to play in 60 FPS mode without losing quality.

Building improvements

Epic Games released details regarding the building improvements in patch V.3.0.0. These improvements will make gameplay smoother, and players will be able to toggle them on or off. The biggest change is that there will be no more lag when switching through different building pieces. In addition, large objects, such as trees, will no longer prevent players from building.

"Fortnite Battle Royale" will also have so-called turbo building which allows players to "spray" multiple building pieces while holding down the primary fire button. Lastly, building material will automatically switch when players run out of it.

Other changes

  • Players will now be able to move for 10 seconds after winning a match.
  • Spectators can open a full map and see how many eliminations the spectated player has
  • Path of the Battle Bus will be visible on the map before the game starts
  • Emoting is available in pre-game lobby
  • Grenades can no longer do critical damage
  • Valentine's Day skin has been removed from the Crossbow
