The latest updates for "Overwatch" reveal the official launch of the new game map called "Blizzard World." Blizzard Entertainment released a new patch update containing the game map along with new character skins, emotes, animation, sprays, and more. The map has gone through numerous PTR updates in the PC in order to make it work properly on the console versions.

Game director Jeff Kaplan also announced that the new Mercy nerf update will not be available in the latest patch. The support character has been the source of controversy for "Overwatch" players due to the numerous changes that made her less powerful.

Blizzard World now open

The new Blizzard World Map is the culmination of all of the company's greatest titles such as "WarCraft," "StarCraft," Hearthstone," and "Diablo." Players can explore these Blizzard-themed places around the map like Hearthstone Tavern, Pylon Terrace, Snaxramas, Protoss rollercoaster, and Terran Bases.

The map is a hybrid as the game starts with an assault as a team will fight there way towards the payload while the opposing team will defend it. The second phase will feature the players guarding and guiding the payload to its destination, while the other prevents them from reaching the checkpoint.

Aside from the Blizzard World map, the patch update also feature new legendary and epic character skins.

Zarya, Roadhog, Widowmaker, Orisa, Tornbjorn, and Doomfist will have outfits based on popular Blizzard characters. Hanzo will have a Kabuki warrior costume, while Lucio will have a capoeira outfit. D.Va will have a cat mecha and a maid cafe dress. Lastly, Mei and Reinhardt will have costumes based on their animation shorts.

Other items include new character emotes, sprays, and highlight intros for each character.

No Mercy nerf this week

"Overwatch" director Jeff Kaplan posted on the official Battle.net forums that Mercy's new nerf changes will not be available in the new patch update. Blizzard Entertainment has been testing the changes in Mercy's gameplay in order to balance the character when being used in the game.

However, many players have complained about her numerous nerf changes as the felt that too much change will make her useless in battle, especially on Competitive Play and world tournaments. They have already changed the healer's ultimate move, "Resurrect," into a standard move, and it is replaced with a power increase move called, "Valkyrie."
