The latest updates for "Street Fighter 5" reveal that series fan-favorite, Sakura could be added to the sequel's Arcade Edition. Her presence was first teased during the "Red Bull Battlegrounds" event as video game fans competed against each other in a tournament.

Capcom also revealed a new trailer for the Arcade Edition and it featured new character V-Triggers, combo extenders, mix-ups, and abilities to give video game fans an exciting experience. The updated sequel will launch on Jan. 16, 2018.

Sakura announcement coming soon

According to EventHubs, Capcom surprised video game fans with a new trailer of "Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition" and an upcoming announcement for this year's Capcom Cup tournament event next month.

The trailer ends with a flurry of cherry blossoms coming down to the crowd as fans speculated that the Japanese publisher will reveal Sakura during the Capcom Cup event. The schoolgirl fighter made her first appearance in the "Street Fighter Alpha" series as an aspiring martial artist after she witnessed Ryu fight.

Sakura has her own version of the Ansatsuken fighting style as she can use moves like Hadouken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki. She sees Ryu as an idol and is inspired to follow in his footsteps in order to become a strong martial artist. The latter is also rumored to be part of the sequel's third DLC character pack alongside Sagat, Oro, Q, Necro, and C. Viper.

Video game fans will have to wait for Capcom's announcement in December during the Capcom Cup event.

New V-Triggers

The new trailer for "Street Fighter 5: Arcade Editon" confirmed a second V-Trigger for the current playable characters on the roster. The V-Triggers can enhance the physical abilities of each character allowing them to dish out more damages and use variant versions of their move set. Players can customize their V-Triggers before the start of the match to sync with their gameplay styles.

The Arcade Editon also introduced the combo extenders, which allow players to perform juggles when doing combos. Mix-ups allow them to perform multiple attacks on their opponents for a limited time. New character abilities are added to the game such as Ken's Shinryuken, Guile's double summersault kicks, and Ibuki's large shuriken throw.

The updated sequel will feature the two DLC character packs and six arcade modes from the original "Street Fighter" game to the current title. Players can unlock 200 pieces of illustration arts and over 100 character endings.
