“South Park: The Fractured But Whole” is all set for its official release next week. Ubisoft has now announced the game’s season pass, which offers exciting contents post-launch.
The highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning “South Park: The Stick of Truth” went gold. After a series of delay woes, the next entry in the RPG franchise based on the popular animated show, "South Park" will finally launch on Tuesday, October 17.
Season pass price
Priced at $29.99, “The Fractured But Whole” season pass will contain three main DLC packs. Two of these expansions will feature new story content that will be available sometime next year.
It is noted that if players opt to buy the season pass separately, it will cost $36.95. Thus, it will be able to save around $6 if they purchase the bundle. However, gamers who are picky and just want to choose what DLC packs to buy will no longer need to shell out additional money.
Content details
Moreover, those who purchase the season pass will be entitled to a couple of bonuses such as costumes and perks packs. In addition to that, they will also have access to Towelie, the genetically engineered towel and game buddy that help players with useful tips in-game.
Season pass holders will receive three main DLC packs, two of which will offer a story expansion in 2018.
DLC packs description
The first pack titled “Danger Deck” will see players meet the final combat challenge in Doctor Timothy’s Danger Deck.
Priced separately at $5.99, fans can unlock a new set of exclusive skins and artifacts in December 2017.
The second pack called “From Dusk till Casa Bonita” will bring a new story that expands the game. Players, The Coon and Mysterion will form a team with a mission to fight an evil lurking at Casa Bonita. This story DLC will be sold individually at $11.99 and will launch sometime in 2018.
The final DLC is called “Bring the Crunch” and similar to the second pack, it will also add a new story featuring a secret superhero class. It is also available for separate purchase at $11.99 and set to come out next year.
Free Day One content
Gamers must note that there is also a free Day One content for them. As already mentioned, gaming buddy Towelie will be released for free to all season pass owners, but the rest can purchase it for $1.99 on October 24.
In addition, a costume and perks pack called “Relics of Zaron” will be launched on October 17 and available for a retail price of $4.99.
Developed and published by Ubisoft in close cooperation with South Park Digital Studios, “South Park: The Fractured But Whole” will arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC platforms.
