Nintendo has released the latest Update for the Switch, update 4.0.0, ahead of all the big releases for Fall. It's the biggest update for the system since it was released back in March. You will be able to capture videos clips, transfer saved data, and they've added some new player icons.

What's new

The ability to capture videos clips is probably the biggest addition to the update. The video clips can only be 30 seconds long and the feature only works for certain games as of now. The feature works a lot like it does on PlayStation 4. When something happens in a game that you want to save you just hold down the capture button and it saves the last 30 seconds of gameplay.

After the video saves you can go to the video in the options and edit it down as much as you want. After you edit it you can post it to your Facebook or Twitter if you want. There is a catch with this feature though, only certain games can use this. "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Arms," "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition," and "Splatoon 2" all can use this now. I would assume "Super Mario Odyssey" will also use this when it comes out October 27th.

The ability to transfer saves from one Switch to another is also available in the update. So if you want the Super Mario Odyssey bundle and want to transfer all your games and saves to the new console you can. Both systems need to be updated to version 4.0.0 and they both need to be connected to the internet.

They also added 12 new player icons that include new pics of "Super Mario Odyssey," "Breath of the Wild," and "Splatoon 2".

Fall games

Now that the latest update is out that means that all the fall releases can take advantage of them. Fire Emblem Warriors releases October 20th, Super Mario Odyssey releases October 27th, L.A. Noire releases November 14th, "Skyrim Special Edition" comes out November 17th, and"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" comes out December 1st.

That's probably the most triple-A games being released on a Nintendo console for the holiday season in some time.

A lot of people will be taking advantage of the video feature once Mario comes out but once Skyrim is out that will more than likely be the main game taking up everyone's feed. It's amazing how popular that game still is so many years after it's initial release back in 2011.

The first "Xenoblade Chronicles" quickly became a hit on the Wii and later released on the 3DS, so the sequel might be the surprise hit of the Fall.

With all the Fall games coming out and the new update releasing beforehand, the Switch is setting up to finish the year strong and give some competition to the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
