A new discovery was made based on a recent report made by a Spanish technology-focused YouTube channel, Unocero. The image of Master Chief from "Halo" was reportedly seen while tearing down the console during a tour of Microsoft’s Seattle campus.
Engraved on the console's board is the image of Master Chief riding a scorpion. This tribute to Master Chief reminds us of Nintendo Switch's Omamori dedicated to Satoru Iwata.
Nintendo's Easter Egg can be found on every piece of Switch hardware and can be unlocked by performing specific steps and gestures that were popularized by the late Satoru Iwata.
An Omamori is an amulet found in religious sites in Japan, and it is said to provide various forms of luck or protection. A heartwarming memorial to Nintendo's fourth president and chief executive officer (CEO). The Easter egg comes in the form of a classic NES game (Golf) that can be unlocked by manually setting the console's date to July 11 (the date when Iwata died), and holding the JoyCons in the manner of Iwata's “Direct” motion.
Once the game is launched successfully, the player will hear a voice message from Iwata taken from an old Nintendo Direct.
Unfortunately, Xbox One X's Easter egg is not as easy as launching the Golf game. Devoted fans must be willing to tear their console's apart and risk voiding their warranty, apart from the probability of breaking things as they go about doing it themselves. Unless you're an experienced gaming console technician, we probably won't recommend digging it up.
John-117
Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, aka-Master Chief, is a commando of SPARTAN-II UNSC Naval Special Warfare Command. He is the protagonist of the military science fiction first-person shooter video game franchise known to us as "Halo." The game was created by Bungie and now managed and developed by 343 Industries, a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios.
The titles in the series have received positive reviews from fans and critics and are considered the Xbox's "killer app".
Through immense marketing campaigns, the game has brought Microsoft substantial success. The "Halo" series has sold over 65 million copies worldwide, with the games alone grossing almost $3.4 billion. Such was the importance, that Master Chief has earned himself a spot in every Xbox One X console.
The Scorpion
At one point, the Xbox One X was called the "Project Scorpio" during its development stage. Microsoft likes to call the One X "the most powerful console" every chance they get with all its strong features that make it stand out from the competition.
According to a YouTube post from Austin Evans, Microsoft also gave the Xbox One S a branding of Master Chief as seen on the video below.
