The latest updates for "Star Wars Battlefront 2" will have the game's main heroine, Iden Versio as a playable character in multiplayer mode. Iden will star in her very own storyline for the sequel that will connect the events of the "Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens" movies.
Game developers Electronic Arts and DICE will address the controversy surrounding the loot boxes in "Battlefront 2's" beta as they will come up with various solutions to make them special and worthwhile before the official game launch next month.
New character for multiplayer mode
The official EA Twitter page tweeted that Iden Versio will be a playable character in the sequel's multiplayer mode. Iden is introduced as an original character in the game and the commander of the Imperial Special Forces. She is equipped with a pulse cannon, force field generator, and a Stun Droid to incapacitate her enemies.
Iden's story will connect certain events in the "Star Wars" franchise starting from the fall of the Galactic Empire o the eventual rise of the First Order. She and her father, Admiral Versio will execute Emperor Palpatine's last plan, "Operation: Cynder" to eradicate the Rebel Alliance and the new Jedi Order.
Game director Mark Thompson revealed that the franchise has not yet explored the Imperial side of the conflict, leading to an interesting storyline and players will discover why Iden is still loyal to the Galactic Empire despite their numerous atrocities.
Gaming fans will also have the chance to play their favorite characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Boba Fett, Yoda, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Rey, and more.

Improved loot boxes
It seems that EA will address the controversies surrounding the loot boxes in the sequel's beta and how will it affect the microtransactions when the finished product is released.
According to DICE, the complete progression system of the game was not fully active in the beta version, which gives the developers time to improve its gameplay mechanics and features that they will apply in the finished title.
As for the sequel's loot boxes, DICE is making sure that the most powerful and rare items will be locked up and they will prevent any exploitations in the game.
Players will be able to purchase and earn crates by completing challenges or earning currency within the game.
There is also a new system that will allow players to upgrade their Star Cards to their maximum potential enabling them to dominate the battlefield.
"Star Wars Battlefront 2" will be available on Nov. 17 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
