As expected, details on what to expect for the Halloween event for "Pokemon Go" have started to come out. The word out is that ghost-type critters from the Hoenn Region are the new faces for this year’s event plus other special goodies and treats.

This means that new critters like Sableye and Banette will be appearing for the first time, a slight twist from last year. In 2016, the spooky Pokemon that came out were mostly common pocket monsters already found in the game.

This included the likes of Gastly, Cubone, Misdreavus, and Houndour.

A new Pikachu included?

Aside from the ghost-type Pokemon, augmented reality gamers also get the chance to add another hat-themed Pikachu to their Pokedex. According to 9to5Mac, there will be a Halloween Pikachu up for grabs, the latest pocket monster collectible after the Christmas and New Year editions of the lovable Pokemon.

Goodies and more bonuses

Similar to last year, "Pokemon Go" players can look forward to a ton of goodies and rewards for the various things that a player can do in the hit mobile game. Candy rewards are expected to be doubled, meaning a player’s chosen buddy is expected to snag twice as much candy compared to the regular walks.

Other bonuses to watch out for include needed game items. This includes Super Incubators and Raid Passes, important items players would gain from in their daily journeys.

The craziness starts Oct. 20

With so much to look forward to, "Pokemon Go" players are expected to have their hands full in the coming days. The Halloween in-game event is set to kick off on Oct. 20 at 12 p.m. PDT. It will run until Nov. 2.

The Halloween event should keep a lot of players busy moving forward and also reel back the ones who stopped playing the mobile game. With that said, it will be interesting if Niantic’s game servers are prepared for the huge spikes in load.

To date, the game is far from perfect with glitches and hiccups still around.

Niantic has been releasing patches to address the issues, but there are plenty of other issues that need to be addressed.

More Pokemon and goodies ahead?

With the imminent entry of the Hoenn Region pocket monsters, Sableye and Banette are just a glimpse of things to come. More pocket monsters from the gen three clan are expected, most of which are likely to surprise gamers at some point while playing the game.

Niantic could also opt to announce the official unleashing of the next generation Pokemon, a ploy to raise interest. Either way, there are new pocket monsters up for grabs which should entice both existing and old players to log on and check them out.
