The first "Fire Emblem" game was released in 1990. Almost 30 years later, and the franchise is still going strong. "Fire Emblem" fans are excited for the new game coming out this month and are ready to see what it's all about. Here are some quick facts about "Fire Emblem Warriors."

The available devices

"Fire Emblem Warriors" will be available for the Nintendo Switch and the New Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo decided to release the game for the switch after seeing the success of "Hyrule Warriors Legends," which runs similarly to "Fire Emblem."

Although the game can be bought for the New Nintendo 3DS, it will ultimately run the best on the Switch.

Characters

Nintendo has given us a wide variety of characters in this game. There are brand new characters, Rowan, Darius, Yelena, and Lianna, but there will be characters from other games featured as well. Although most of these characters are from the most recent games, there are characters from older games included. The game uses Marth, Caeda, and Tiki from "Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon," Celica from "Shadows of Valentia," and Lyn from "The Blazing Blade."

Most of the characters come from the two most recent additions to the series, "Fire Emblem Fates" and "Fire Emblem: Awakening." We're given Chrom, Lissa, Frederick, Cordelia, Lucina, female Robin, and male Robin, from "Awakening." The "Fates" characters are Ryoma, Hinoka, Takumi, Sakura, Xander, Camilla, Leo, Elise, and both male and female versions of Corrin.

Local co-op

"Fire Emblem Warriors" will offer local co-op and single Joy-con support on the Nintendo Switch. The screen will be split in order to use co-op. We aren't sure how co-op will work on the 3DS, but it's possible that local co-op won't be available for the 3DS version.

Amiibo support

Since the "Fire Emblem" series has so many characters, it would only make sense for there to be amiibo to go with them.

Nintendo hasn't released any information on how the amiibo support will work or what perks using the amiibo characters will give us in the game. However, we do know that all "Fire Emblem" amiibo will be supported for the game. So if your favorite character isn't on the roster to be included in the game, you'll still have the option to use their amiibo.

Special edition

"Fire Emblem Warriors" releases for the Nintendo Switch and the New 3DS on October 20. Nintendo is also releasing limited Special Edition orders for the game. The special edition only offers the game for the Nintendo Switch, but comes with CDs featuring music from the game, a poster with an English side and a Japanese side, and 25 character art cards with plastic sleeves. The game by itself is around $60, but the special edition is retailing at $79.99. It's an amazing deal for a super cool package, and it's sure to go fast. But even if we can't all get the special edition, we are all excited for the game to be released.
