August has come and passed with a slight gaming drought. With September finally arriving, the major games are slowly rolling out in line with the upcoming holiday season. This month has plenty in store for gamers as some Triple A games are slowly making their way to their respective consoles. With that being said, here are four upcoming video game releases you should look forward to this month.

‘Destiny 2’

“Destiny 2” is the highly awaited sequel to the first game that released on PS3 and Xbox 360. This fast paced first-person shooter gives you the role of a guardian, except Dominous Ghaul has kicked you out from the Tower.

This ruthless Cabal leader is seeking the power you have and will stop at nothing to get it. With that being said, you’ll be getting your sweet revenge in the game with an assortment of new weapons and armor available. “Destiny 2” will be launching on Sept. 6 for the PS4 and Xbox One.

‘Knack 2’

Another sequel, “Knack 2” continues the cute, yet brutal adventure that started as a PS4 launch title. Don't be fooled by its cutesy graphics, “Knack” was pretty brutal if you didn’t take it seriously. With this in mind, the upcoming sequel is built on the foundation of the first game wherein your character will be growing and shrinking at the same time. “Knack 2” comes with a set of new skills, but still contains the same beautiful art style and interesting gameplay.

The game is slated to release this Sept. 5 on the PS4.

‘Metroid: Samus Returns’

If you thought the 3DS was dead, think again. Samus will be making her big debut this month on the handheld system later this month as a reimagining of the series’ second game. Here, you’ll play the role of bounty hunter Samus as she takes on another intergalactic mission involving the Metroid.

While the game retains most of its platforming gameplay, Nintendo has streamlined the controls and given Samus a bunch of new abilities. This upcoming title will surely appease returning fans and new players to the series. “Metroid: Samus Returns” will launch on the 3DS this Sept. 15.

‘Pokken Tournament DX’

Fans of the original “Pokken Tournament” should be pleased to hear that Nintendo is porting it over to the Switch.

While the title contains the same gameplay, the developers are bringing over all the added characters in the arcade version. Decidueye also joins the battle as the latest playable character, so that’s something to look forward to. “Pokken Tournament DX” is slated to release on the Nintendo Switch this Sept. 22.
