Maxis confirmed in August that “The Sims 4: Cats And Dogs” will be released on Windows PC and Mac OS platforms in November. However, if a recent leak is any indication, the much-awaited expansion pack could also arrive on console versions.

Apparently, eagle-eyed fans spotted a pre-order listing of “Cats and Dogs” for Xbox One and PS4 consoles at Sklep Gram, a trusted Polish retailer website. The new leak further indicates that the release date of the expansion is on November 16 (November 17 in the US).

Retailer removes consoles' listing

Notably, November 17 is the launch date of "The Sims 4" on consoles.

According to fan site Sims Community, it is plausible that it could only be a placeholder until Maxis has an official release date of the expansion pack for the console version.

However, the fan site also found out moments later that the listing was removed from the website. So, this is quite interesting to know since it could mean that the retailer prematurely revealed the pre-order for “Cats and Dogs” EP and it needs to take the listing down immediately.

Maxis responds

Following this leak, a curious fan took to Twitter to ask the Sims team if the Pets DLC will be launched on consoles. Game producer Michael Duke, who is widely known on social media as SimGuruDuke, responded to the query.

Although SimGuruDuke did not give yes or no as an answer, he somehow hinted that the expansion will eventually reach Xbox One and SP4 when he said the team will “get to work” when the PC version is done.

Exclusive screenshots

More news on “Cats and Dogs,” game publisher Electronic Arts sponsored the Sims Camp 2017 for the fans of its widely popular life simulation series. This special event allowed the players to try out the Create A Pet (CAP) feature of the expansion.

Then, a number of the attendees quickly shared the exclusive screenshots of the pets they created at Sims Camp on Twitter.

It appears that most of their creations resemble the look of their pets in real life.

Moreover, the list of the cat traits coming in the Pets DLC also surfaced from Sims Camp 2017.

There is a total of 17 traits for cats and these include the following:

“Cats and Dogs” is slated for release on November 10 on PC and Mac OS. "The Sims 4" will hit Xbox One and PS4 on November 17 in two available versions.
