Back in July, Nintendo released the team-based third-person shooter "Splatoon 2" for Switch, as the sequel to the 2015 Wii U title. The game received fairly positive reviews from players and critics alike and since then, Nintendo has made sure to release more content to keep players interested. In fact, the studio has been rolling out new content every week and this week, players can expect the new Forge Splattershot Pro DLC weapon for free. According to Gamespot, the Forge Splattershot Pro may be familiar to "Splatoon" fans as it is a returning weapon from the game's predecessor.
It's described as a high-powered shooter that quickly uses up the ink supply.
Forge Splattershot Pro available via the Ammo Knights shop
"Splatoon 2" players can now get the Forge Splattershot Pro through the Ammo Knights shop. With it comes the sub-weapon Suction Bombs, which is special Bubble Blower, a new ability in the game. When players activate this, they can create three large bubbles that will explode when fired using the player's team's ink.
Splatfest competition running through September 2
Aside from the new "Splatoon 2" Forge Splattershot Pro weapon, players can also participate in the ongoing Splatfest, which launches on September 1 at 9 p.m. PT / 12 a.m. ET, and will run for 24 hours until September 2, 9 p.m.
PT / 12 a.m. ET. This Splatfest will have a super powers theme in which players must choose if they want to have the superpower of flight or the superpower of invisibility. According to another report from Gamespot, players can join the Splatfest by heading to the Inkopolis Square and choosing a team from the voting booth. Players will be matched with other players of the same team.
Each victory will contribute to the team's overall score, with every player awarded with Super Sea Snails based on end rankings. These Super Sea Snails can be used to add even more slots to their gear. During the Splatfest, players can expect stages to appear different as well, as maps will be set at night during the event.
Featured in this weekend's Splatfest is the game's new stage called Manta Maria and Shifty Station.
Those who participate in this weekend's Splatfest should know that results will be unveiled this September 3. "Splatoon 2" is directed by Yusuke Amano, Seita Inoue, Shintaro Sato, and produced by Hisashi Nogami. It's currently playable on the Nintendo Switch and features both single- and multi-player.
