The forthcoming expansion for Electronic Arts’ first-person shooter video game, “Battlefield 1,” now has a launch date. Gamers will soon have the chance to expand the continuing battle of the video game.

According to Express, the new expansion of “Battlefield 1” will be dubbed the "In the Name of the Tsar." This will be the video game’s biggest expansion of all time. The “Battlefield 1” Premium Pass holders will acquire the "In the Name of the Tsar" expansion on September 5. Meanwhile, players without the season pass can download the game’s new expansion as a standalone pack on Sept.

The title of the new “Battlefield 1” expansion suggests that it will come along with Russian troops and equipment. Also, the "In the Name of the Tsar" expansion will feature six new maps, the Hussar class, vehicles, Eastern Front’s Supply Drop mode, new Stationary Weapon, new Operations and New Challenges.

New maps

The maps of this latest downloadable content (DLC) will be located on the Eastern Front and in the Bolsheviks. The Eastern Front is the location where the Russian army confronted the Central Powers. The new maps also include Albion, Volga River, Lupkow Pass, Galicia, Tsaritsyn and Brusilov Keep, according to Daily Star.

Gamers of “Battlefield 1” are expected to be pleased to try out the expansion’s 11 new Russian weapons, such as Soviet troops' standard issue weapon, Mosin-Nagant M91.

The "In the Name of the Tsar" expansion will also allow players to compete for dog tags, service stars as well as new medals.

One notable addition to arriving with the “Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar" expansion is the Women's Battalion of Death’s Russian Scout. This marks the first time that the “Battlefield 1” video game will have a playable female character.

The most exciting feature in the new expansion could be the Supply Drop game mode. Wherein, teams will have a violent confrontation for the supplies dropped by the planes.

However, the Tsar expansion will be the second of four expansions the developer will add to the video game. The first expansion (They Shall Not Pass) was released back in March 2017.

HDR10 support to the game

Aside from the "In the Name of the Tsar" expansion, EA will also launch the HDR10 support to the first-person shooter game. This will allow “Battlefield 1” players with an HDR-supported device to play the video game with contrast ratio as well as a broader color palette.
