NIS America previously released a short trailer that presented four characters, collectively called the "The Explorers of Seiren." The four characters are Laxia, Hummel, Sahad, and Ricotta. Each character has their own backstory and personality that makes the story colorful and fun.

Now, a new trailer has been released that presented the main protagonist. Of course, the main story is not complete without the evergreen and beloved protagonist, Adol Christin. Brandishing a sword and showing his popular flaming-red hair, he gets a new look in the trailer.

Here is the trailer below via NIS America on YouTube:

A free downloadable content

The company also recently announced that it will release some costumes for Adol as downloadable content. The downloadable content will last about one week after the game's official release date of September 12 in North America and September 15 in Europe. The following downloadable content items are:

  • Survival kit - this kit will contain some essential items during exploration such as 10 pieces of iron ores, 1 empty bottle, and a Blade Ring II.
  • Silver armor - this costume brings back nostalgia. This is the armor that Adol wore in the first Ys series.
  • Adventurer clothes - according to "Gematsu," this is a "jaunty clothing that Adol wears on his adventures around the world."

Furthermore, it was also previously mentioned that those who pre-order the PS4 version of "Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana" will get some major benefits such as a PlayStation 4 theme, avatars of seven in-game characters, and a digital soundtrack that contains five tracks.

People who pre-ordered the game can get their benefits via the PlayStation Store.
