"Pokkén tournament DX" (Pokkén Tournament Deluxe) is the upcoming fighting video game from developer Bandai Namco Studios and publisher The Pokémon Company. "Pokkén Tournament DX" is an enhanced Nintendo Switch port of the "Pokkén Tournament" game originally developed for the Wii U. The game incorporates gameplay aspects from Bandai Namco's Tekken series with the characters from Nintendo's Pokémon franchise. The game focuses more on action rather than the turn-based technical gameplay we see on traditional Pokémon games.

Fans and players alike will have to wait a few more weeks before the Poké Universe hits Nintendo Switch, to keep fans all the more excited, Nintendo released a new TV ad which can be seen above.

The video released by Nintendo highlights a mixture of old and new characters made available for the anticipated game. This also gives fans a glimpse of what to expect from the DX version as new Pokémon like Decidueye will be added to the game's roster of cute and powerful pocket monsters.

A perfect match

Nintendo Switch proves to be a perfect platform for "Pokkén Tournament DX," it offers versatility and a wide array of gameplay for Pokémon fans. As it is now a Switch console staple, players can enjoy local versus action using the Nintendo Switch JoyCon. They can pick up either the left or the right JoyCon to control their Pokémon and prove who's the best. It's more than just another fighting game, "Pokkén Tournament DX" brings nostalgic memories reminiscent of those Pokémon Game Boy battles fans used to play with their friends.

There is no need for a link cable for Nintendo Switch as players can battle it out by setting up online matches. The game also features 3v3 team battles, an online ranked play, and friend only group matches. New Pokémon like Darkrai, Scizor, Empoleon, Croagunk has been added to the list of the game's playable characters.

Demo

Nintendo will provide fans with a free Demo of the game which will be made available for download from the Switch eShop. The announcement was made on Twitter following the prestigious Pokémon World Championships, an invitation-only event for the best Pokémon TCG, Pokémon VGC and Pokkén Tournament players. Though no release date was provided in the tweet, players could expect it to hit the Switch eShop anytime soon. The highly acclaimed video game will be available for the Nintendo Switch platform on September 22.
