marvel vs. capcom infinite is inching closer towards its official release date in September. But before that, the latest entry in the franchise will make a final stop at Gamescom 2017 - the biggest annual gaming convention in Europe that will take place later this month in Germany.

Dormammu, Firebrand confirmed

Capcom confirmed that Dread Dormammu and Firebrand the Red Blaze officially join the playable roster featured in “Marvel v. Capcom Infinite.” The addition the two new characters were revealed in an MVCI Marvel Comics variant covers this week, with the release of Spider-Man vs.

Deadpool #20 on Aug. 2.

The game developer also said that fans can look forward to a new gameplay for Dormammu and Firebrand at Gamescom 2017 slated to run from August 22 up to August 26 at Koelnmesse expo grounds in Cologne, Germany.

It is noted that Firebrand was included in the list of leaked roster of characters that will appear in the new fighting title. Then later, a data miner additionally revealed that Dormammu, Ghost Rider, and Frank West are also part of the roster.

Who’s confirmed so far

So now, the official count of playable characters including those coming via DLC is 31.

The rest who are confirmed so far include Black Panther (DLC), Arthur, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Gamora, Chris Redfield, Chun-Li, Dante, Hawkeye, Mega Man X, Jedah Dohma, Hulk, Iron Man, Mike Haggar, Morrigan Aensland, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Nathan Spencer, Spider-Man, Nemesis, Ryu, Thanos, Thor, Ultron, Zero, Sigma (DLC), Strider Hiryu, and Frank West.

SDCC reveal

Back at the San Diego Comic-Con, Capcom also showcased the fourth gameplay trailer revealing five more characters that made it to the cut. These are Spider-Man, Nemesis, Haggar, Frank West, and Gamora.

The Mind stone as the fifth of the six Infinity Stones was announced as well in the game’s SDCC gameplay trailer.

The other Infinity Stones confirmed earlier are Reality, Space, Time, and Power stones.

It is plausible that the final secret stone will be teased at the Gamescom gameplay trailer along with Firebrand and Dormammu. If recent leaks are anything to by, the last stone could possibly the Soul stone, a soul gem with a power of Surge boost that can take an enemy’s life away.

“Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite” is the sixth main installment of the crossover game series developed and published by Capcom. It will hit Xbox One, PS4, and PC on September 19, 2017.
