The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature new clues on the remaining Playable Characters in DLC Pack 3 and NetherRealm Studios showcased Black Manta's gameplay trailer.
Black Manta arrives
NetherRealm Studios revealed the gameplay trailer of the newest DLC character, Black Manta in "Injustice 2" as he takes on Aquaman, John Steward, Jay Garrick, and Swamp Thing. The DC villain was first teased in the DLC Pack 2 announcement at Gamescom 2017 along with two guest characters, Hellboy and "Mortal Kombat's" Raiden.
In the comics, Black Manta is the arch nemesis of Aquaman as he blames the latter's family for the death of his father and has sworn vengeance against them and the Kingdom of Atlantis.
His armor is equipped with shoulder mounted rocket launchers, retractable spikes, laser beams from his helmet, two short swords, harpoon gun, and a jetpack.
Black Manta's gameplay is focused on dealing heavy damage using fast paced combos. He can use his jetpack to hover around the area to avoid ground based attacks and use his laser beams from various angles. Manta also uses explosives to set-up chain combos and harpoon gun can drag his opponents towards him blast them with his lasers. NetherRealm Studio will release the DC villain into the game's roster in September, while the remaining two characters will likely launch in October and November.
The remaining DLC characters
With the announcement of Black Manta, Hellboy, Raiden for DLC Pack 3, NetherRealm looks to make a lasting impression for the gaming fans by making DLC Pack 3 the most must have content for "Injustice 2." Like the previous DLC packs, it will contain three playable characters, but their identities are still unknown.
However, a post from Reddit revealed several clues on the characters for the DLC Pack 3 and these are a female fighter, a shrunken-down hero, and someone wearing a trench coat. The female fighter is speculated to have mystical powers and the fans are hinting that she could be Teen Titans member Raven or the DC anti-hero Enchantress.
As for the shrunken-down hero, this pertains to Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom, who developed the technology to shrink himself to a subatomic level. The trench coat wearing character could be "Hellblazer's" main protagonist John Constantine or Watchmen member Rorschach.
Spawn is also being speculated to be a DLC fighter in "Injustice 2" as fans are still hoping that the game developers would consider the idea of pitting him against the likes of Superman, Batman, and Darkseid.
