There is no official word as to when Bethesda Softworks plans to work on “The Elder Scrolls 6.” It is technically a myth for now with the company focusing on “The Elder Scrolls Online” and “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.” Ramping up content and features seem to be doing well with fans, although there are some hoping for an entirely new game. No credible update has been given unless Bethesda is purposely holding all those back to prevent false hopes and expectations.
No game, no hype
Everyone is aware how Hello Games put itself in a spot with “No Man’s Sky.” The marketing people behind it did a pretty good job – something that backfired when the game failed to deliver, Gamingbolt reported.
Hello Games has been working on “No Man’s Sky” and the latest update has been drawing raves. But the point here is that all these should have been there from day one. When the ambitious space exploration game came out, many were disappointed and ended up abandoning the game.
That scenario alone is something that Bethesda wants to avoid. Until there is a product to market, the company will continue to keep a lid on the future of “The Elder Scrolls 6” at least for now.
Knowing what the fans want
For now, the improvements being made to "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and/or “The Elder Scrolls Online” could be an inadvertent ploy. While new features and stuff are always welcome, it can also help gauge which things gamers would be looking for.
Looking at it closely, Bethesda may be taking down notes and studying player rants and reactions. Their response to new items or non-playing characters could be used as points that the game development team would consider for the next installment.
With the ideas gathered, the next move will be up to the game developers. This would include coming up with new items of characters that can fit into player demands and masterfully designing them to a player’s delight.
Visual improvements are expected though there is still the need to ensure that they are appealing on game displays. Optimizing performance with these unique creations will be needed as well, the last step for the entire process.
As one can see, "The Elder Scrolls 6" will need to undergo a tedious process. There is a lot of work to be done though preliminaries may have been purposely plotted with most failing to take notice.
There is no timetable for the next “Elder Scrolls” installment. The updates are holding the fort, for now, probably a good idea rather than rushing a sixth installment that may lack the necessary interest gamers always look forward to.
