Xbox One backwards compatibility update: celebrating 399 titles this July

After adding three new titles on the Xbox One backwards compatibility last week, Microsoft is hoping to reach a new milestone with four new titles this week. According to the Attack of the Fanboy, these titles include "Frontlines: Fuel of War," "Quantum Conundrum," "Costume Quest 2," and "Virtua Fighter 2." These four new titles completed the 399th entry to the BC feature with the possibility of reaching 400 within the month of July.

While everyone seems to look forward to the upcoming launching of the Xbox One X, Microsoft continues to support the current gen console with the latest backwards compatible games. Previously, it was confirmed that the feature will include the "Halo" series, but with no specific date of release. That being said, fans have something to look forward to aside from the small games that made it to the list.

Since the launching of the backwards compatibility two years ago, at least 550 have been included with 166 of them being shelved for lack of support from gamers.

While fans can vote for the next titles, according to Microsoft, it is the licensing of the game that makes it difficult for them to develop an Xbox 360 game for the Xbox One console. Nevertheless, some big titles continue to arrive on the feature.

It would be interesting to know the 400th title on the Xbox One backward compatibility feature; the moment when Microsoft reaches a new milestone in the gaming department. As for the "Halo" franchise, make sure not to miss the "Halo 3," "Halo 3: ODST," "Halo 4," and "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary." The developer behind the title franchise also confirmed the inclusion of free DLCs for the said titles.

History of mistakenly added BC games

In July 2016, one of the most anticipated title; the "Red Dead Redemption" finally arrived.

The title made a brief appearance on the list before Microsoft pulled it off. The reason is an erroneous posting of the title after it was made playable for a short period of time. The same thing happened to "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" when it was made available only to be pulled out after.

In other news, an exciting announcement has recently been made and Bethesda and Microsoft confirmed plans to include "The Evil Within 2" and "Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus" on the Xbox One X enhance. Interestingly, both titles will arrive at launching the Xbox One X. According to the Express UK, "The Evil Within 2" is expected to release on October 13 and the "Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus" on October 27.
