“Total War: Warhammer 2” will likely feature the Skaven as the secret fourth race coming to the game. Creative Assembly, meanwhile, has released a new gameplay video in its bid to whet the appetite of PG gamers for the next installment in the planned trilogy before it releases in September.

In-depth look at High Elves exotic new units

The acclaimed game developer has released the latest gameplay video featuring the High Elves and Lizardmen in an epic battle in The latest “Total War: Warhammer 2”. In the sneak peek teases, the two races fight over the Mosquito Swamps – one of the sacred sites that will be seen in the game.

Fans also get an in-depth look at these six exotic units of the High Elves in the gameplay. These units include the Frostheart Phoenix, an ironclad flying beast that has the power to freeze enemies at bay and the Flamespyre Phoenix, a fiery and more conventional monster that has self-healing power.

The Swordmasters of Hoeth is a sword infantry that is highly equipped to deflect arrows out of the air while the Phoenix Guard is an elite halberd-wielding infantry with a magical ward. The formidable shock cavalry Dragon Princes are known as the best Knights of the High Elves and then Prince Tyrion, one of the two legendary lords.

On the other hand, the Lizardmen also displayed their strength in battle with their chameleon skinks and Horned One cavalry.

Their legendary Lord, Mazdamundi, was riding his ancient stegadon, Zlaag, and cast his iconic spell called Ruination of Cities.

Latest clue hints Skaven

Meanwhile, the latest clue on Skaven as the game’s secret fourth race was spotted in the third phase of the ritual-based reveal for “Total War: Warhammer 2”, although, this sly clue won’t come as a surprise to fans.

The letter from an Imperial Witch Hunter mentioned about village populations gone missing and a man talking about the green-colored Warpstone. Once gamers get to the page and use their Total War access account, a new concept art will pop up the reveals a rat-like image, thus, hinting the possible addition of Skaven in the game.

The ritual puzzle offers eight unlockable items, so, there are five more to go. Fans can hope that Creative Assembly will soon unveil a gameplay trailer or a new army roster that will finally confirm this information on Skaven. Prior to the gameplay video, the developer also showed a closer glimpse at the game's campaign maps.

"Total War: Warhammer 2" is a follow-up to the first title released in May 2016. The second game in the series will be launched on September 28 on Windows PC and Mac OS.
